I am a proud member!

here is the button for the mystery quilt I am working on. I can't wait to see what it will end up looking like!

Christmas Quilt

The center blocks are solid fabrics and the busy looking borders are Sesame Street fabric with Burt and Ernie on them. I loved Sesame Street when I was a kid!

Charm Quilt

This is a charm quilt with 5" squares. I chose different red fabrics to sort of highlight the fact these blocks are large 9-patches. I love charm quilts!

Christmas Quilt

This is an unlikely Christmas quilt. The fabrics are mainly from one line and they all have white/gold pointsettas on them.

Orca Bay

This is Bonnie Hunter's step 1 for the Orka Bay mystery quilt. My colors are light yellow, brown, green and rust. She introduced the mystery in October so all I could think about was Fall colors.

Butterfly Quilt

This is a quilt I made using a pattern from Quiltmaker magazine. I just love the bright colors!

Latest QAL star block

I started using other colors than just red, white and blue. I just don't have enough in the Civil War fabrics to be so inclusive color wise. What do you think?

Thimbleberries Quilt

This is a Thimbleberries quilt I finished last year around Christmas time. I bought the kit off eBay in 2006 and finished it in 2010. Not bad because I still have UFO's older than that :)

What I did this weekend

You can't beat sitting around a fire pit on a chilly October day with friends. This was my weekend and it was wonderful.

Giraffe

This is the giraffe my friends and I have adopted as our mascot. This picture shows him enjoying the smoke from the fire pit.

My Cats

Here is a photo of all 3 of my cats on a quilt created from a Kaffe jelly roll. Honestly, the only reason the 3 of them would sleep together is because it is now starting to get cold and they want their collective body heat.

Moose on the Porch Quilts

This is the second block for Moose on the Porch Fat Quarters Quilt Along. I'm using reproduction fabrics in red, white and blue. I say "reproduction" in a loose way because these fabrics may be a copy of a colonial era cotton or from the Civil War, it doesn't matter, they will be used in this quilt.

Civil War Dresses Quilt

This quilt was 12 years in the making. I appliqued the dresses and sewed on old jewelry pieces onto the dresses. My plan was that this would be a wallhanging but my taste has changed over the years so for now this will live in an old chest we have.

Conversational Print Quilt

This quilt is made from conversational prints paired with a complemetary color. The center squares are stripe fabric left over from another quilt. I hand quilted this and used wool batting for the first time. This quilt is actually on my bed now.

Charm Quilt

This is a charm quilt I made a few years ago. It is the snowball pattern with yellow corner squares. Charm quilts are a special favorite of mine. I always look at new quilt patterns wondering if I could adapt it to a charm quilt.

Pearl on an old quilt

I call this quilt "All About Me- the First 30 Years". Each square has a conversation print which is symbolic of some event in my life from 0 to 30. I hand quilted this with black thread.  I think pearl likes it.

Stack and Whack

This is a stack and whack I made in 2001 or 2002 with casino novelty fabric I bought from Hancocks for about $2.00 a yard. Those were the days....  with the remains from this quilt I made a companion quilt with a red background. This quilt is above.

Moving along on my Garden Fence quilt

Ok, the pieces are coming together on my Garden Fence QAL. I am enjoying this so much I may make it in a pink/orange/white colorway.

Angel Christmas Quilt

This is what I'm machine quilting now.  They are mostly Chrismas fabrics but in a light color way so it doesn't look like a holiday themed quilt. I don't do much machine quilting but I think that is going to change because the LA is expensive and I can't hand quilt fast enough to keep up with all of my tops.
